Position Description: 

The Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as a strategic and hands-on partner across multiple HR functions, delivering expert guidance and operational support to employees, managers, and cross-functional teams. This role is responsible for assisting with employee relations, policy interpretation, benefits and leave administration, immigration compliance, onboarding, and HRIS management. In addition to leading complex employee matters and compliance initiatives, the Senior HR Generalist administers various employee programs while also coordinating new hire orientation and assisting hiring managers with interpreting assessment results. This role provides backup support to Talent Acquisition, including interview coordination, candidate communication, and pre-employment processes. Acting as a trusted advisor and connector across the organization, this position plays a critical role in promoting positive employee experiences, ensuring legal and policy compliance, and driving efficient and consistent execution of HR processes.

Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Serves as a predictive and proactive HR partner to managers and employees, providing expert guidance on employee relations, HR policy interpretation, performance management, and workplace conflict resolution.
  • Assists in investigations into employee concerns or misconduct, ensuring accurate documentation and consistent application of policies and legal compliance.
  • Leads the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring seamless professional experiences for new hires, transfers, and separating employees across departments. Coordinates new hire orientation to ensure consistency and reinforce organizational culture from day one.
  • Assists with interpreting pre-employment assessments and behavioral profile tools, providing guidance to hiring managers to support informed and equitable selection decisions.
  • Provides direct support and guidance to employees regarding benefits eligibility, leave of absence policies (FMLA, ADA, parental leave), and workplace accommodations.
  • Supports the administration of retiree benefits and prepares clear, timely communications related to benefit programs.
  • Administers employee programs including tuition reimbursement, matching gifts, service awards, and wellness/fitness reimbursements; ensures accurate recordkeeping and communication of program eligibility and guidelines.
  • Administers and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations related to employment practices, including EEO, FMLA, ADA, I-9, and worker’s compensation.
  • Coordinates HR compliance reporting such as EEO-1, VETS-4212, and supports Affirmative Action Plan efforts; ensures records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and internal audit protocols.
  • Oversees and maintains accuracy of employee data and documents within the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and consistency across systems.
  • Supports immigration case tracking and compliance by coordinating with employees, internal stakeholders, and outside counsel; ensures timely filing and tracking of visa and work authorization documentation.
  • Maintains organized records and compliance trackers for immigration matters, I-9s, and other employment eligibility requirements.
  • Manages onboarding and recordkeeping for contractors, interns, and temporary workers, ensuring correct access, classification, and documentation practices.
  • Acts as a backup support for Talent Acquisition, including:
    • Coordinating and scheduling interviews with hiring teams.
    • Supporting candidate communication and offer logistics.
    • Administering pre-employment assessm
