About the role

Description

The Yale Center for Research on Aging (Y-Age) in Department of Pathology at the Yale School of Medicine is seeking applications for up to two tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to build an interdisciplinary research program in basic biology of aging. We are seeking outstanding scientists in the area investigating the hallmarks of aging, including immunobiology-inflammation of aging, metabolism, proteostasis, epigenetic and genetic regulation, exceptional longevity models, systems biology of aging and neural control of  organ function and disease. We are particularly keen to recruit new faculty colleagues who will contribute to scientific excellence of diverse Yale community with strong commitment to teaching and mentoring. The Department of Pathology will serve as the academic home of new Y-Age faculty. The current Y-Age members include a diverse group of scientists from across Yale School of Medicine Departments and Centers and the Yale University community. The faculty will be housed in newly renovated laboratory space in the Lauder Hall and position will be supported by a generous startup package and resources of Yale.

Successful candidates will be expected to establish a competitive and impactful research program in the basic biology of aging, but with an eye on translation of findings into the chronic diseases of aging. Other responsibilities will include contributions to Yale's teaching and service missions and, if appropriate, its clinical programs. Qualifications

All applicants must have Ph.D., M.D., DVM., or equivalent degree. In addition, applicant must have a very strong record of research productivity, demonstrate the ability to develop a rigorous research program in aging biology.
