Project Accountant

    

Job Description:

Performs entry to mid- level accounting functions specific to the District’s financial operations including, but not limited to, activities in account reconciliations, monthly and annual closing cycles, financial reporting and analysis, cash transactions, journal entries and fund accounting. Performs research and makes recommendations for appropriate accounting treatments. Assists in the production of the Annual Financial Report. Acts as a strategic partner with employees throughout the District who are tasked with performing bookkeeping duties. This includes creating training tools, facilitating training courses, providing general customer service and explaining accounting analysis and methodology.

Responsibilities:


Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of and compliance with State and Federal accounting laws and regulations.


Serve as a district link to District bookkeepers by assisting in training, ensuring adherence to board policy, reviewing account code usage and resolving financial issues/problems.


Support the annual financial audit and development of the Annual Financial Report by creating fund level financials, ensuring accurate audit files and providing data, as needed, to external auditors.


Communicate to District stakeholders financial updates and changes through training or verbal written internet communique. This includes maintenance and updates of accounting manuals.


Develop and promote positive community relationships among various district communities and school clientele.


Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

    

Work Experience:

Minimum three (3) to five (5) years accounting or bookkeeping experience. | Required

Bachelor's Degree: Accounting

    

Skills:

Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Collaborative team player. Maintains a generally positive attitude. Observes all District policies and procedures.

$60,468.51 USD Annual

   

Maximum Hire Rate:

$75,585.65 USD Annual

   

Full Salary Range:

$60,468.51 USD - $90,702.79 USD Annual
  • All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
