Job Title: Manager, Manufacturing Technology & Facilities
Location: Keosauqua, IA and Centerville, IA
What we are looking for:
Due to a recent promotion, we are seeking a Manager, Manufacturing Technology & Facilities. This position provides leadership to a team of Maintenance, Mfg. Support, and CNC Programming technicians. This person must have the ability to coach, lead and learn with a continuous improvement mindset. Goals focus on driving the organization to measurable and sustainable KPI improvements. This position will report directly to the Dir. of Operations and will work in close partnership with peers including Plant Managers, CI Leaders, Finance, Supply Chain and Design Engineering. This person must have the ability to deliver on responsibilities with utmost integrity and commitment to our core values.
What are the responsibilities of this role:
- Provide strategic guidance for Maintenance, Mfg. Support, and CNC Programming teams.
- Multi-site responsibility with teams based in Keosauqua and Centerville
- Develop direct reports to continuously drive process improvement & expanded skillsets.
- Support, Implement and/or drive major projects for operations and facilities.
- Plan, manage and deliver projects on-time and within Time/Scope/Cost parameters.
- Provide accurate and timely progress/status reports to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and execute tactical & strategic mfg. initiatives.
- Evaluate needs, author & submit Capex proposals for machines, facilities, and services.
- Coordinate all new machine installations, internal moves and/ or disposal.
- Create value proposition(s) for right-sized equipment and use of advanced mfg. principles.
- Lead advanced problem-solving teams as assigned.
- Aid with trouble shooting manufacturing equipment issues.
- Design & prepare concept drawings for prototypes, new or modifications to existing equipment.
- Continuously improve TPM/PM scope & schedule to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Utilize internal and external resources to maximize OEE.
- Continuously reduce waste in operational process and information hand-offs
- Support CI/Kaizen initiatives with resources and technical expertise
- Engage use of Kaizen tools as part of project implementation
- Monitor and manage contractors through contractor control.
- Maintain subcontractor Preferred Supplier List
- Specify, monitor & manage cleaning provisions for the sites.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
What are the basic qualifications?
- Bachelor’s degree in a Technology, Engineering, Education, Business, or related discipline
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in a production, Mfg. Eng., or maintenance leadership role
What are the preferred qualifications?
- Experience with plant automation (PLC, Motion Control, CNC) and MES
- Strong listening, coaching, verbal and written communication skillset.
- Strong LEAN Manufacturing background of 10+ years
- Proven hands-on understanding and experience in use and coaching of TPS/Lean Fundamentals
- Broad understanding of manufacturing & assembly processes, equipment, and environments
- Experience with sheet metal, cutting, forming, welding, painting, wood, plastics, wiring, copper bending, brazing, refrigeration, and assembly.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI, or Tableau
- Advanced knowledge and skills with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
