Job Title: Sr. Enterprise Linux Administrator
Work Location: Asheville, NC - Onsite
Clearance Required: Public Trust (US Citizenship required)
Job Summary:
We are actively seeking a System Administrator to join our current team on an active project supporting a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) IT Support Services contract. The AOI team provides data center management and consolidation, cloud migration, and associated IT services. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the infrastructure; also, to collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes. You will become an integral part of a close-knit team, making every problem of the platform a problem of your own, and solving them accordingly. Also innovating to come up with infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for architecting and designing and building new systems.
Manage and maintain Infrastructure with Ansible Codebase. Contribute to ongoing platform within IaC approach.
Communicate to IT leadership and our Business partners regarding production issues
Identify and implement methods to measure, monitor and report on SLAs and team productivity metrics
Participate in Incident, Problem, and Change ticket management
Automates routine processes and identifies and installs tools to improve daily operations
Implementation of preventative measures to ensure application reliability, availability, and uptime
Required Skills/Experience:
Hands on exposure to evaluating and implementing new tools, automation and integration is a must.
Demonstrated knowledge and working experience in both Linux (RHEL/CentOS 7.x+) and container technology.
Linux administration in Virtualized environments (KVM, RHV-Ovirt)
Strong scripting experience. Bash, Python or Go preferred.
Experience in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
Experience with web servers Tomcat, Apache or Nginx. Familiarity with web-based technologies, including but not limited to, reverse proxy servers, SSL certificate configuration.
Storage knowledge and experience with filesystems configuration along with Logical Volume Manage (LVM) strong knowledge of NFS and/or Ceph
A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
Takes ownership of assignments, working with minimal direct supervision
Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written correspondence) in a professional and courteous manner with technical and non-technical personnel.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills
