What We Want
The Graduate and Professional School is embarking on the process of redesigning its website and migrating into a new Content Management System (CMS). We are seeking a Web and Information Designer that will lead this project and be responsible for optimizing the design, maintaining, updating, and seeking continuous improvement for our website and other digital platforms. This includes enhancing layouts, interfaces, functionality, navigability, and ensuring compliance with technical and accessibility standards for better marketability, search engine ranking, and content delivery. This role is pivotal in ensuring a seamless transition to a new Content Management System (CMS) while enhancing the Graduate and Professional School’s online presence. What You Need to Know
Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 (Based on selected hire’s qualifications)
Cover Letter & Resume: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended
Schedule: Ability to work some nights and weekends for Graduate and Professional School facilitated events
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience
Three years of professional web design, development, and optimization experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree from an accredited University or College
Experience working in Higher Education
Five years of professional web design, development, and optimization experience
Demonstrated experience in website creation and administration in Cascade, WordPress, or other web content management systems
Experience designing web content to meet strategic marketing and communications campaigns and goals, social media (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), and customer relations management systems
Three years of experience in web administration, the creation of web pages and websites
Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite and other design software
Experience creating websites in Cascade, WordPress and/or similar content management systems
Advanced knowledge of HTML including usability and optimization techniques
Web design production process and project management skills
Ability to translate client needs into executable designs
Ability to create original concepts
Responsibilities
Web Content, Design & Communications:
Designs, publishes, and maintains accuracy, timeliness, navigability, and functionality of website content developed through integrative communication strategies
Produces and manages a variety of graphic imagery, video, and other multimedia-rich content. Assists with development and implementation of online communications strategy
Implements a web content strategy to meet institutional and unit business goals
Establishes procedures for authoring web content
Coordinates and administers user access to the CMS environment
Ensures a consistent visual image by promoting uniform formatting, images, fonts, icons, and layout techniques
Develops required reports and metrics, including search engine analytics and uses the results to develop communication strategies.
Maintains and improves existing web systems and hardware.
Ensures compliance with state, federal and university rules, and regulations
Maintains and ensures accessibility standards
Creates automated tasks and systems for data transfer in web-based applications, website expansion or other
