Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Project Management – RA Project Engineer (25-071) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO., or Huntsville, AL.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.

Essential Functions:

The selected candidate will report to the Regional Applications Engineering Project Manager and work closely with other Regional Applications leadership (including Engineering Managers, Product Owners, and CAMs) to fulfill a variety of needed tasks, including (but not limited to):

  • Organizing and conducting weekly tag-ups and status meetings
  • Maintaining Confluence pages for meetings
  • Tracking Action Items and working with assignees to resolve issues
  • Organizing Iteration planning meetings and working with product teams on collecting and presenting metrics used for planning
  • Managing the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) approvals
  • Working with product teams to complete SARA forms and get approval through the C2BMC Prime and Govt before use
  • Managing Regional Applications CDRLS, working with authors, and driving the CDRL reviews through approval
  • Ensuring product teams have needed staffing requisitions open in the RCB tool and the LM Brass Ring
  • Understanding staffing demand for all product teams
  • Responsible for reviewing all submitted candidates and working with product teams to interview and select qualified candidates for open positions
  • Opening new requisitions as required
  • Working with C2BMC partners and subcontract managers to provide additional information on requisitions and candidate status
  • Representing RA at the Resource Control Board, compiling staffing metrics for the Regional Applications ART, and presenting to the senior resource Manager at their weekly staffing meeting
  • Collecting software development metrics and reporting to assist product teams and leadership

Salary range for Huntsville: $108,400 - $162,600
Salary range for Colorado Springs: $103,200 - $154,800

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business, Social Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Science, or related discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in Business, Social Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Science, or related discipline and 6 years of experience, or 12 years of related experience instead of a degree may be considered
  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/365
