About the department:

  • The ASec team is a front office commercial unit within GCM, which assists ING Wholesale Banking clients through:
    • ASec originates, structures, executes, syndicates, and manages a portfolio of securitization and asset backed lending deals.
    • ASec administers and oversees the commercial paper issuances of Mont Blanc Capital Corporation (MBCC), an Asset Backed Commercial Paper (ABCP) issuer which is sponsored and administered by ING.
    • ASec works collaboratively with syndicate and sales professionals within ING Financial Markets LLC, to originate, structure, and execute capital markets Asset Backed Securities (ABS) issuances.
  • ASec is a global group with teams in New York, Dublin, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Singapore and Sydney, who work as multi-disciplined tribes on local and international transactions in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities :

  • The position is for a Director, acting as Head of ABS Structuring within the ASec team, which is part of GCM.
  • The role will report both functionally and hierarchically to the head of Asset Securitization at ING Financial Markets LLC.
  • The successful candidate will join a fast growing and highly dynamic and multi-skilled global team of banking professionals with experience in successfully originating, structuring, and executing ABS transactions globally.
  • The focus asset classes for the ASec team currently includes Prime Automotive Loans and Leases and a variety of esoteric asset classes.
  • The position will allow for and require a significant amount of collaboration and co-operation across business sectors and departments within ING.
  • The candidate will work closely with the broader ASec team, Global Capital Markets (particularly ABS Syndicate) and Financial Markets (particularly US Fixed Income Distribution)
  • The position will have access to a shared pool of junior staff of professionals to support.
  • The role of Head of ABS Structuring has a core focus on origination of ABS mandates and the execution of structuring roles in ABS deals. Specifically, this involves:
    • Responsibility for working with ASec and ABS Syndicate on responses to RFPs and pitches that require transaction structure indications, and sizing/tranching/cashflow modelling inputs;
    • Structuring ABS transactions and providing analytics that are detailed, accurate, clear, concise and consistent with deal documentation
    • Ability to lead the structuring of ABS deals including:
      • Modelling of deals (via both Excel and Intex);
      • Ability to provide ABS analytics from the modelling process to be included in various investor disclosures, including but not limited to roadshow presentations and preliminary and final offering prospectuses;
      • Being available for investors during the marketing and pricing of primary ABS transactions; and
      • Managing rating agency processes;

In addition to this, the individual will also be required to support the conduit team with rating and modelling of deals booked within MBCC.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree. MBA or a Masters in Finance is a plus.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Demonstrated track record of executing ABS transactions as the individual responsible for structuring, minimum 5 years’ experience required;
