We are seeking a professional like you who will play a pivotal role in the daily operation of the Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate (MDI) plant and provide technical assistance for achieving production targets. You will leverage your expertise in process engineering to troubleshoot issues, optimize plant equipment, and enhance reliability. Compliance with safety regulations and adhering to BASF Process Safety practices will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, including executing MOCs, conducting safety reviews, and updating process safety information. Additionally, you will contribute to global technology initiatives, participate in turnarounds, and be part of the on-call rotation. With the MDI value chain's expansion project on the horizon, your contribution will be crucial in supporting the plant's growth and ensuring customer success.

As a Production Engineer II, You Create Chemistry By...

 

  • Encouraging the development of technical expertise in yourself and others while actively pursuing sustainable solutions to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Monitoring daily and weekly operations, analyzing trends, and studying patterns to identify inefficiencies and develop corrective action plans.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise to the Daily Operational Team in resolving plant issues.
  • Offering technical and leadership support in root cause failure analysis for production, EHS, and Quality Incidents.
  • Participating in production planning and scheduling.
  • Being adaptable to changes in production priorities, you will participate in the on-call rotation and promptly respond to after-hour events affecting production or EHS.
  • Interfacing with the business team, suppliers, customers, and vendors as needed to maintain plant operation.

If you have...

 

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience working in the Chemical, Petrochemical, and/or Refining manufacturing industry.
  • Prefer experience in continuous processes.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and analyzing technical problems and developing/implementing solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in collaborating and communicating with frontline workers such as operators, shift supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
  • Proven experience evaluating the impact of process changes on EHS and operations.
