Additional hours will be required to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. This job is not suitable for remote work and is expected to work regular on-site hours. Some travel may be required.
This position is designated as an Administrative Officer and serves without a fixed term and at the pleasure of the President, pursuant to Regents Rule 20102 and the University’s Handbook of Operating Procedures 1-1020, “Officers of Administration.”
Purpose
To provide professional level engineering support in the technical operation and management of Texas Athletics broadcast and in-venue videoboard production facilities.
Responsibilities
Collaborate in providing technical oversight for live and in-venue events produced by Texas Athletics in collaboration with full-time and student assistant staff.
Serves as an Engineer-In-Charge for Broadcasts and In-Venue video board productions and ensures the control rooms, displays, stream, and all related equipment are functioning correctly.
Assists in supervising and educating the engineering student workforce on the proper setup and operating procedures of broadcast equipment.
Sets up production equipment at remote facilities and ensures proper signal flow back to central facility.
Troubleshoots at the component and system level and provides operational assistance in broadcast, IT, and communications systems.
Serves as a liaison between Texas Studios and external television network broadcasts.
Assists in-venue production staff by providing operational support of digital signage and associated electronic components. Provides support for live event technical setup and management of operations systems.
Drive a UT or rental vehicle on and off campus. Performs other duties as assigned.

Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Communications, Broadcasting or related field. One year of experience in engineering operations. Relevant work-related experience including digital/linear level live remote or studio broadcast productions as engineer. Knowledge of ESPN requirements and workflows.
