The Goddard School® located in Cumming is looking for a motivated, self-starter for an Assistant Director position at our School. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication and organization skills, and a good understanding of a developmentally appropriate learning program for young children. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to motivate and inspire others. 

The Assistant Director's responsibilities include the following:

• Overseeing faculty training & development regarding Health and Safety and Quality Assurance
• Developing strong relationships with our families
• Complying with state childcare licensing regulations
• Projecting a positive and upbeat attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrating highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Having a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education
• Additional training will be provided over time to ensure this role can provide support as needed for other positions within our Leadership Team
• Drive the Goddard Bus daily for the afterschool program, picking up students at elementary schools during the school year, and as needed during County school breaks for the field trips. Must pass a preliminary drug screening and have a clear MVR upon hire. MVR is rechecked annually and must remain clear to continue employment as the Assistant Director.
• Close the building daily, remaining at the facility until the last child leaves and ensuring the facility is secured. Open the facility at 6:30am as needed. 

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 24 Years of Age
• Current CDA or Associates of Arts or Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field
• 1 year experience supervising or managing staff
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An inspirational leader and team builder
• Proactive about building relationships with new families and maintaining high enrollment to make sure the students have access to the best curriculum available
• Organized and able to multitask, strategically resolves challenges, and has a great attitude
• Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
