About the role

The Corporate Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive, professional level HR support to multiple manufacturing facilities across several states. This position serves as a trusted partner to managers and employees by delivering guidance on employee relations, policy administration, leave administration, workplace accommodations, benefits support, and regulatory compliance. The HR Generalist ensures the consistent application of company policies and HR programs, while promoting positive employee experience and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

 

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee Relations and Performance Management

  • Partner with managers and supervisors to provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including performance management, coaching, corrective action, workplace conflict, misconduct investigations, and terminations.
  • Conduct and manage employee investigations while ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Identify trends, risks, and inconsistent employment practices through monitoring and investigation activities and recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices to minimize organizational risk and ensure compliance.
  • Support leadership in the implementation and administration of performance management processes, including performance improvement plans and employee development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Leaves of Absence and Workplace Accommodations

  • Administer and coordinate employee leave programs, including but not limited to Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA/ADAAA), Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), state leave programs, workers' compensation-related leaves, and company leave policies.
  • Manage leave cases from initiation through closure, including eligibility determinations, documentation tracking, employee communications, return-to-work coordination, and recordkeeping.
  • Conduct and document the interactive process for workplace accommodations and determine appropriate accommodations in collaboration with employees, managers, and medical providers when applicable.
  • Ensure all leave and accommodation practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records related to leave administration and accommodation requests.

Benefits and Employee Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and provide support regarding health, welfare, retirement, and company-sponsored benefit programs.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, new hire orientation, life event changes, and annual open enrollment activities.
  • Collaborate with benefit vendors and internal departments to resolve employee benefit issues in a timely manner.

HR Operations and Compliance

  • Maintain employee records within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute HR reports, metrics, and workforce data as needed.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Support organizational compliance requirements, audits, and employment-related reporting.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve HR processes, increase efficiency, and enhance service delivery.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization and promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources Generalist experience, with emphasis in employee relations, investigations
  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices, employment law compliance, and employee relations.
  • Experience administering leave of absence programs and workplace accommodations.
  • Excellent investigative, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
