Job Overview:
The Regional Director of Visual Merchandising (RDVMM) drives consistency of execution in all stores within the region, establishing Bloomingdale’s as the local leader of visual merchandising success in their region. The RDVMM inspires and guides the store team to deliver environments filled with creative energy and aspirational yet approachable style, always placing the customer first, always. The RDVMM role models a strong creative sense of fashion leadership balanced with an understanding of metric driven commerce . They are focused on delivering sales by dreaming big in their support of corporate and regional initiatives, pushing the envelope of what bold and innovative means for their team. Partnering with the RDOS, GMs, and store teams, the VMM makes things happen by leading the process for delivery of fashion leadership, merchandise strategies, fashion trends, prototypes and creative alignment to Marketing campaigns. The RDVMM develops a team of strong professional and hourly colleagues, building together to ensure best practices are executed, and guaranteeing we always create a clean, neat, and easy to shop environment in our stores.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure Operating Principles are fully embraced by the region with the appropriate communication and culture.
- Lead the Visual Merchandising teams to deliver a customer centric fashion leadership vision.
- Working in partnership with Central, RDOS, GMs, Asset Protection, Operations and Operations Managers on accurate sales/expense forecasting, achieving all productivity metrics. Those metrics include: Expense, Shortage, EBIT, Productivity, HUR.
- Ensure merchandise presentation standards and floor replenishment are consistently supported with efficient stock room organization and maintenance.
- Partner with General Managers, Visual Merchandising teams and Operations teams on seasonal merchandising strategies and marketing events and operational support to coordinate execution to drive the business.
- Analyze and understand key business trends, through review of Focus Report and Key Item Reports, and ensure operational focus on supporting those businesses.
- Ensure consistent review of weekly operations reports to maximize selling opportunities, including Fed Ticket Compliance, Fulfillment, Shoe Audit, Focus Report, HUR, OTH, and Loyalty Participation. Share best practices between stores.
- Work with stores to coordinate and drive operational execution of outbound merchandise, managing stock levels and opening up stock dollars.
- Serve as the ultimate role model of customer first, always. Consistently demonstrate the urgency of servicing the customer in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
- Ensure that Operations teams understand that the customer is the number 1 priority and are capable of providing outstanding service as measured by Fulfillment and NPS results.
- Daily review and weekly analysis of Net Promoter Survey results, with focus on “Clean, Neat, Easy to Shop”. Partner with stores to address issues, focusing on maintenance needs, housekeeping issues, and general store presentation.
- Conduct weekly store walk-through visits, reviewing Service Channel tickets and standards, and challenging store teams on opportunities.
- Analyze BTR weekly, monitoring expense trends in comparison with business trends in the stores. Ensure stores flex expense in line with business trends.
- Achieve shortage plan in all stores and facilitate sharing of shortage control best practices between stores.
- Work in partnership with Central Sr. Director of Finance on expense initiatives and flex program in the stores.
- Work in partnership with Central Shortage Control to develop and implement seasonal shortage reduction strategies.
- Ensure 100% compliance in the stores with seasonal shortage reduction strategies, including action plan development, execution, and follow-up, and inventory execution.
