About the role

As a Product Design Manager on the Developer Productivity team, you will be responsible for building products to support the E2E developer life-cycle–from writing code to shipping best-in-class products to our worldwide user base. Meta’s infrastructure is constantly redefining what is possible, and we need an innovative leader to evolve our developer experience to be the best in the industry, which includes supercharging our products by injecting AI throughout the developer journey.

We're seeking a Product Design Manager to help us shape the innovative products and capabilities that empower our engineers to move fast and build quality products at scale. In this role, you'll be a foundational member of Meta’s Developer Environment leadership team, working together with your counterparts in product management, engineering, research and data science to define the strategy and vision that guide the team to build great products addressing real user needs.Product Design Manager Responsibilities
  • Manage the health and success of a growing team of talented designers.
  • Develop design and leadership talent and build a thriving culture where designers grow in their careers and feel a strong sense of inclusion and belonging.
  • Design and scale the organization to rise to the challenge of creating meaningful organizational change, ultimately maturing into a true product thinking culture.
  • Drive collaboration and shared vision across multiple developer orgs to build alignment on priorities leading to impactful product design and execution.
  • Shape the roadmap, both short and long-term, influencing our product direction.
  • Guide the team to develop best practices for ensuring a high bar of design quality and success measures.
  • Establish a strong, collaborative design practice with a healthy feedback culture.
  • Manage a distributed design team and collaborate with teams in other offices.
  • Execute in a fast-paced and highly fluid environment.
  • Play a key role within the Developer Infrastructure team, driving large cross functional projects that span the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years industry experience in a people management role on a Design team, including hiring and developing senior individual contributors.
  • 10+ years of hands-on digital design experience.
  • Experience as a developer using core development tools in a tech company or experience designing developer products used for code authoring, code reviews, testing.
  • A portfolio of work that contains examples of Interaction (UX) Design and Visual Systems Development for digital applications that work in cross browser environments.
  • Experience building design organizations, growing strategic design practices, and leading product strategy across multiple domains and broad portfolios.
  • Demonstrated experience to be a change agent for successfully embedding sound product design and research practices in a proven engineering culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing products using AI to accelerate a user’s productivity.
