The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas (Dallas Fed or Bank) promotes a strong financial system and healthy economy in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District, which includes Texas, northern Louisiana, and southern New Mexico. Through our offices in Dallas, El Paso, Houston, and San Antonio, and our team of 1,300 employees, we work for and with the people of our district to build a strong and inclusive economy. Our responsibilities are wide-ranging. We conduct economic research and gather perspectives from our region to bring to national conversations about monetary policy. We work with government, financial industry, and the community to ensure our banking system is safe, accessible, and secure. We help maintain a reliable supply of cash and support digital payment. We work with community partners to ensure that all people in our district have opportunities to build a bright economic future. Our success depends on actively connecting with the people and communities we serve.

The Role:

The Assistant General Auditor (AGA) works closely with the General Auditor to establish strategic priorities for the Audit Department such that the team is recognized as internal control and business process knowledge leaders who add value by identifying opportunities to improve System and Bank operations.  The AGA oversees the development and execution of the local audit plan while coordinating District work with the System Audit Plan.

The AGA will continue building a culture of high performance and empowerment.  He or she will inspire a team of diverse and highly engaged “superb talent” through leading people practices.  He or she will ensure there is alignment to the vision and priorities of the organization at all levels of his or her team.  He or she will lead by example as a coach, identifying and growing organizational capability and the talent pipeline for the success of the Federal Reserve Bank Dallas today and in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates leadership aligned with the Bank’s mission, vision, values, and strategy.

  • Maintains and promotes an enterprise mindset, ensuring a focus on overall success of the Bank and Federal Reserve System.

  • Builds connections at the officer and team levels with other Reserve Bank Audit Departments and the Subcommittee of Audit Officers to increase the Bank’s thought leadership within the Federal Reserve System.

  • Maintains leading performance metrics, proper risk management, and other key performance indicators. Ensures effective knowledge sharing to build the effectiveness of the audit team. 

  • Actively seeks, secures and develops the best talent available.

  • Takes a leading role in the Bank’s diversity agenda and holds himself/herself and others accountable for creating an inclusive workplace.

  • Mentors and supports staff to develop the next generation of Bank leaders.

Audit Department Oversight

  • Oversees the development and execution of an annual audit program using the risk assessment methodology approved by the System’s Conference of General Auditors and ensures that business areas receive the appropriate level of audit attention in terms of scope and frequency of coverage.

  • Ensures that audit work is conducted in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditor's (IIA) Core Principles, Definition of Internal Auditing, Code of Ethics, and Standards.
