Job Description Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, organized and vibrant Clinical Research Coordinator A (CRC-A) to join Penn Medicine’s Basser Center Men and BRCA Program. The Basser Center for BRCA is the world’s leading comprehensive center for the research, treatment, and prevention of BRCA-related cancers. The Basser Center Men and BRCA Program is directed by Dr. Kara Maxwell, a physician scientist who cares for patients with hereditary cancers at Penn Medicine and the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center in addition to running a translational genomics laboratory. The CRC-A will interact with patients from Penn cancer genetics clinics in support of prostate cancer screening studies. The CRC-A will work side-by-side with other Basser Center research team members and will direct report to the project manager with the Men and BRCA Program.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

• Screen clinical records for patient eligibility to research studies.

• Interact with and consent patients at Penn Medicine with inherited cancer syndromes in a variety of clinical settings and collect biospecimens. 

• Maintain study documents and associated databases.

• Track patients enrolled in prostate cancer screening studies, from enrollment through sample collection; includes scheduling appointments and referring to study physicians.

• Assist as directed to submit documents to the Institutional Review Board and for regulatory aspects of the studies, including materials and data use agreements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Position is contingent on funding.
