The purpose of Centre of Excellence (CoE) IT Security is ensuring ING will be amongst the safest banks and will be seen as a leader in (IT) security. We assist Wholesale Banking Tech globally in being successful in IT Risk and IT Security and we ensure this is part of our DNA and engineering profile.
The CoE IT Security is responsible for securing WB Tech environments globally. You support to create a cohesive IT Security Strategy, a roadmap for strategy implementation and you’re responsible for delivering security & risk awareness throughout WB Tech and WB Business. You’re familiar with the application environments within WB Tech globally in order to be able to participate in various discussions and drive the integration of IT Security in the DevOps way of working forward.
Your key responsibilities
Your main focus will be on the following capabilities:
- Set IT Risk and security priorities for supported IT teams and challenge risk-based
- Monitor and clarify to others changes in IT and Cyber risk policies and standards
- Remove impediments blocking the team in their progress
- IT & Security & Cloud Risk Assessments
- Key Control Testing (including testing for SOx controls)
- Manage Third Party & Cloud Security
- Data Security (incl. DLP, encryption services & key management)
- Drive Control Implementation
- Improve Identity and Access Management (policy, process and tools)
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Secure SDLC (incl. code review, requirements setting, security config.)
- Vulnerability and Patch Management
- Application Security, Server & Endpoint Security and Network Security
- IT Security & IT Risk Awareness
- Security Monitoring & Alert Handling
- Automate and simplify Security & Risk Controls
- Designing technical Security Solutions for the future (including Cloud)

- You are building and maintaining the craftsmanship of IT Security
- You continue to develop within your own expertise and are seen as an expert in the relevant field.
- You facilitate, support and motivate your team members (approx. 5 IT security engineers).
- You encourage and facilitate the (global) Expertise Group IT Security members to develop themselves.
- You collaborate with other IT security and CISO teams across the ING organization.
- As Expertise Lead IT Security you ensure standards within the own area of expertise.
- You ensure that standards and knowledge are shared across the team(s).
