Capital One Dealer Tech Auto Finance, a leading innovative division within Capital One Financial Services, specializes in cutting-edge auto loan technology. With a strong commitment to delivering exceptional software solutions, Dealer Tech Auto partners with car dealerships nationwide to originate large volumes of auto loan contracts to Capital One. In addition to its state of the art auto loan origination platform, the division is also focused on developing innovative dealership services that enhance both the sales and funding processes.
The Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack will support the Auto Dealer Financials team that are responsible for maintaining the core ledgering / accounting of Auto Dealer Reserve Accounts at Capital One. This group plays a vital role supporting our dealer partners and maintaining an accurate and transparent accounting is crucial for the success of this team. Dealers are the main channel of sales/originations in the Financial Services group and hence maintaining an accurate and transparent accounting is crucial for the business. As a Software Engineer, you will be able to support an enterprise wide initiative at Capital One and be a part of the team that will be modernizing payments for the business. The technical stack for this role will focus on Angular, Node, Java, Python, Amazon Elastic Map Reduce (EMR), Amazon Elastic Container Service, SQS Hadoop, Spark and Kafka.
What You’ll Do:
Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community
Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 3 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js
1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
3+ years of experience in open source frameworks
2+ years of experience in Agile practices
