As a Senior Technical Designer, you will spend time guiding and mentoring junior team members, leading the technical aspects of design projects, solving complex technical challenges, and making strategic contributions to improve workflow pipelines and system creation. Ideal candidates will have a critical eye for innovation, quality, and optimized scripting solutions, as well as thrive in collaborative creative environments. You will also be responsible for identifying areas of opportunity within the field of technical design and implementing strategies to leverage these opportunities. 

As a Senior Technical Designer, you will... 

• Prototype and implement advanced game features based on designs in Unreal Engine. 

• Oversee the creation and maintenance of documentation on systems and best practices. 

• Resolve complex issues by devising systemic solutions with scalability and maintainability in mind. 

• Define and redefine workflows, implement them, and improve the efficiency of other designers. 

• Work with the team to conceptualize, prototype, continually iterate, balance, and tune features and gameplay based on feedback. 

• Collaborate with designers and programmers to create and support systems. 

• Lead the team or oversee projects, providing direction and support to achieve desired outcomes. 

• Generate your own tasks and identify areas of opportunity within your field of expertise. 

To be considered for this role, you must... 

• Have significant professional experience as a Technical Designer with demonstrable understanding of how to implement within Unreal Engine. 

• Possess a deep understanding of game design fundamentals (gameplay features, asset management, and version control). 

• Be proficient with visual scripting, specifically Blueprint in Unreal. 

• Be familiar with advanced programming principles. 

• Be a strong communicator with proven ability to document and share technical knowledge effectively. 

• Have prior leadership experience in technical design or a related field. 

Preference will be given to candidates who also have... 

• Demonstrable experience leading large-scale design projects in a senior role. 

• A track record of success in a leadership role, particularly overseeing a team or project. 

It'll be a bonus, if you... 

• Have examples of personal work that showcase your technical design knowledge on a 3rd person action-adventure game and/or professional experience contributing to a AAA console title as a technical designer or systems designer. 

• Show a strong ability to make strategic decisions that have a significant impact on the outcome of projects or initiatives.
