Is responsible for planning and coordination of repair orders in our network of Repair Workshops.

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Provide time critical data and reports to the Repair Director, assisting in inputting data into weekly and monthly reports to Management, reviewing open orders, delays, and missing items from customer.
  • Act as back up to the Repair Director, assists with the management of the Repair Group when Director is required to travel to customer sites, or meetings.
  • Review internal processes to find efficiencies and/or deficiencies then work with the Repair Director to develop the needed changes and implement them with the teams in both locations.
  • Train and mentor new/existing Team members in the Repair processes.
  • Performs root cause analysis initiatives for mechanical repair related concerns.
  • Performs internal audits of operation process using inspection results and statistical techniques to provide timely, accurate process and product analysis
  • Works with customers to set up new repair orders including issuing Return Good Authorizations, obtaining proper safety information and initiating inspection of customer's equipment with repair shops. (Includes Shared Inbox Customer Handling). Understand the process and make it teachable to future staff.
  • Enter Repair orders into the CRM/SAP/ERP systems  .
  • Identifies and corrects more complex problems associated with repair activities, utilizing technical drawings, technical documentation, and liaise with Design Departments to get answers.
  • Confer directly with the Director of Shops NAM about issues that impact the deliverability of the Repair projects.
  • Communicate directly with senior members of internal departments in NAM and EU concerning shipment of parts and return of parts, delivery dates and status of orders, invoices, and assistance from finance with customer accounts, when simple resolutions do now rectify the issues
  • Communicate with customer Senior Management, to explain why certain Repairs are needed to correct damages done to equipment and offer potential corrective plans to mitigate such instances going forward. Interprets information provided by repair shop and technical advisor to calculate repair costs and prepare quotes for customers.
  • Reviews the final calculation of repair invoice and billing, to assist and oversee Coordinators as needed.
  • Interface with the Parts warehouse and/or GEA factories on internal orders and deliveries, including expedited processing for urgent requests.
  • Process orders (within CRM/ERP & online via customer portals) as well work with German colleagues to process returns/warranties.
  • Coordinates with Warehouse & Shop personnel to monitor repair progress including following up on part shortages. Responsible to update and review Repair SharePoint with current delivery information from production meetings.
  • Provides status updates to customer when requested or on a biweekly or less frequency as Repair Projects are processed through the stages in Warehouse and Shop through to completion.
  • Provide Technical Leadership Gathers technical information related to Repairs for key accounts, from Shop(s), Engineering and Sales as required, to hold customer meetings with these main key customers with large install bases, as required or requested.
  • Assist with Technical Review of all equipment quotations prior to submission to the customer.
  • All other duties as assigned or directed by management.  

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or any related technological science, preferably in the field of Mechanical or applicable process engineering.
  • Associate degree acceptable with relevant a minimum of  5 years experience.
  • International Experience desired.
  • Project Management Professional preferred
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • 3+ years’ experience in separators, centrifuge repair and/or process design.
  • Supervisory experience and demonstrated success in one or more service-related positions desired.
  • Ability to convey knowledge to a team in training and mentoring new team members.  
  • Experience in invoicing and billing.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Proficient in SAP.
  • Ability to read and decipher complex technical drawings, machine descriptions
