Responsibilities:The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is seeking a temporary general assistant / laboratory helper for the vivarium a growing, fast-paced animal facility.
Specific Duties include:
- Process dirty cages dump, preclean, scrub and load on wash racks
- Load Racks and run cycles through washers and sterilizers
- Process clean cages, fill and load onto bulk carts
- General cleaning duties: sweeping mopping, trash collection
- Stocking and storing of materials and supplies up to 50 pounds repeatedly
Requires a High School Diploma
Must be able to:
- Read and write in English
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Operate laboratory equipment such as autoclaves and other sterilizers
- Lift, transport and deliver materials and stock laboratory supplies and goods
- Wear and work in personal protective equipment
- Stand, bend lift and twist for prolonged periods of time
Availability Monday through Fridays 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
