This position assists the Associate Director, Employer Engagement in executing the strategy and vision for employer management and development functions with local and national employers for Career Services at UIC. Additionally, the position serves to enhance employers' presence on campus and virtually to improve career preparation, opportunities, and connections for undergraduate and graduate students and alumni beyond traditional career fair recruiting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with new and existing local and national employers for recruiting purposes and student engagement at UIC.
- Develop strategies to engage employer partners in activities and initiatives designed to support student career development and further the goals of Career Services, especially from a lens of justice, diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Approve internship and full-time job opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students in Handshake.
- Provide management of employer and student communications and logistical support for campus career fairs, career education events, employer information tables and other programs.
- Assist with data collection of all employer-student career programs and touch points and monitor employer data in the Handshake system.
- Collaborate with college-based career offices and partners to develop strategies for comprehensive corporate and employer engagement.
- Collaborate with career advising and student employment staff for program support and initiation and career advising appointments as needed.
- Provide back-up support for the UIC Illuminate Internship Program.
- Serve as a liaison to campus and university departments and represent the department on committees as needed and requested.
- Attend corporate, alumni and professional associations and events to benchmark best practices of career services functions in relation to employer and corporate development.
- Represent the department and University on committees and consortiums inside and outside the institution.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Three (3) years of experience concurrent with the Bachelor’s degree requirement, delivering career development-focused workshops or programs within a university career services, student employment, or corporate recruitment/human resources environment.
- Master's degree or MBA preferred.
