Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift to join our team. In this role, you will manage daily activities and employees within the Packaging Group, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures. You will focus on creating an efficient packaging area while maintaining the highest quality standards. This position offers the chance to lead process improvements and support a collaborative team environment.
Shift: Sunday-Thursday 10pm-7am with training on first shift
Location: Kansas City, MO
100% Onsite
The Role
Drive process improvements within the packaging area
Manage procedures and maintain accurate written documentation
Lead and develop direct reports to achieve team goals
Ensure quality, efficiency, and timeliness of outputs
Present and defend policies and procedures to internal and external stakeholders
Gain comprehensive knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices and industry standards
Investigate and evaluate industry trends for potential implementation
Analyze data and make sound decisions during deviations or non-conformances
Plan corrective actions and implement preventive measures
Train team members on changes resulting from corrective actions
Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and operating parameters
Complete additional tasks as assigned
The Candidate
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is required
At least five years of relevant experience in Production Operation or previous scheduling roles
Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing
Ability to read, write, and speak clear English
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Intermediate computer skills, including email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer, inventory systems, and Human/Machine Interface (HMI)
Basic mathematical skills
Ability to organize daily work plans
Track employee personal leave and sick time within company limits
Handle interpersonal conflicts between employees
Train new staff on procedures and paperwork
Manage and organize people, projects, and materials for efficient processing
Ability to interact effectively with current management staff
Respirator fit testing and pulmonary physical required
Handling of controlled substance product – background check with DEA screening required
Work in highly active containment area (Potent Drug Facility), when applicable
Operate a manual pallet jack and potentially become licensed to operate the Pallet Stacker
Availability to work occasional overtime
Minimal travel requirements (10%)
Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent‑sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.

Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience
Experience writing and updating standardized working procedures
Experience in the contract pharmaceutical industry
Bachelor’s degree
