The Family Child Care Home program partners with local licensed home-based childcare providers and implements monitoring, training, technical assistance, and support to Early Head Start-funded children in their programs ages 0 to 3 years old.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
While you may support providers, families and children in both direct and indirect ways, you will also help ensure that FCCH providers have the support they need to be successful business owners and provide a healthy and safe environment for children to play and learn. The level of support you offer will vary from home to home and should be individualized for each provider. As an FCCH coordinator you will:
- Supervise the Family Child Care Home Early Head Start program staff
- Provides monthly reflective supervision to the Family Child Care Home team
- Responsible for evaluation of staff performance yearly
- Responsible for ensuring that all homes comply with CELS and HSPPS (Head Start Program Performance Standards)
- Create a recruitment plan for families and providers to meet funder requirements
- Recruit new providers and guide them as they begin their FCCH business following the DFSS CEL guidelines (Chicago Early Learning guidelines)
- Coordinate monthly providers and parent policy committee meetings along with family service specialists, (content must be focused on child development, parenting, and parent education based on curriculum topics)
- Complete provider home visits and evaluate and document any program violations in CSD CARES
- Participates in the development of program policies and procedures, service delivery plans and ongoing monitoring for continuous quality improvement
- Collect all of end of month documents on a timely manner and enter data into CSD CARES
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education, social work or related field.
- Family Service Worker or Family Specialist Credential Level 5
- 2-4 years working with children ages 0-5 required
- EHS/HS policies and procedure knowledge
- Center-based / Home Day Care experience
- Must have a reliable car for transportation, a valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance.
- Candidates must pass the required state and company background check
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Knowledge and understanding of the Head Start Program Performance Standards and Illinois
- Licensing Standards for Day Care Homes
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Teaching Strategies GOLD, CSD CARES
