About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a Senior AWS Application Developer to join us. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • This resource needs to have a specific focus on AWS Application development
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-native applications on AWS.
  • Utilize AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, IAM, and CloudFormation.
  • Contribute to application development efforts and designing application architecture
  • Develop strategies for migrating on prem applications to cloud
  • Design, test, code, debug, and support cloud-based applications
  • Ensure the quality and technical excellence of enterprise grade solutions
  • Plan and execute technical application details
  • Design and develop solutions for applications, including characteristics such as high availability, reliability, scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and stability

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience: 

  • BS level technical degree or equivalent experience (Computer Science or Engineering background)
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as an AWS Application Developer with hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based applications using Amazon Web Services.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience on large-scale software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, JavaScript.

Required and Desired Skills/Certifications: 

 

  • Required
    • Must have experience with at minimum the following AWS services: Lambda, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, IAM, Comprehend, Textract, Bedrock, and CloudFormation
    • Must have experience with API integration with third party applications
    • Worked with tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, or similar change and source code control tools
    • Superb written and oral communication skills
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, self-motivated and excellent presentation skills
    • Ability to effectively work both autonomously as well as on a team
  • Preferred
    • AWS Certified Developer Associate Certification or similar
    • Experience leading projects in Refactoring, Re-writing and Decoupling applications.
    • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
    • Experience with designing and building distributed applications with Hybrid Architectures for high available, secure and reliable systems.
    • Experience with configuration management platforms (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible) and hands on familiarity with Infra as a code.
    • Ability to ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
    • Experience with Integration platform tools (such as Mulesoft, Postman, Boomi, etc.) is a plus
    • Experience in project technical estimation, component breakdown, and cross application communication
    • Experience with developing testing strategies for complex applications
    • Experience with:1. Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)2. Configuration-as-Code (CaC)3. Terraform (if needed)4. CloudFormation5. AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI)6. Git (including branching, tagging, etc)7. Structured Query Language (SQL)

 

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance.
