About the role
Description
Description: The Technical Representative will provide on-site liaison support between the supplier (customer) and the manufacturing plant. This position is a full time position. This position is located in San Antonio, Texas. This position may require to work overtime on occasion.
Job Accountabilities:
- Notify Quality Engineer responsible about reject products, materials and equipment that does not meet specifications in accordance to standard operating procedures
- Identify and pursue Technical Representation opportunities with current customers and new customers. Provide regular updates on sales opportunities.
- Assure timely feedback of inspection results to appropriate personnel
- Evaluate problems and make recommendations for improvements to upper mgmt.
- Prepare and verify testing equipment according to the standard operating procedures
- Promote safe work practices and adherence to company operating procedures
- Perform specialty tests as needed
- Liaison support between customer and plant.
- Ensure calibration of inspection equipment prior to its use
- Assist with secondary operations as needed
- Driving containment and closure of Supplier Process SQE concerns
- Collaborating with triage process to drive quick containment of emerging issues
- Driving reduction in supplier Quality Rejects (QRs), Stop Shipments (SS), PPM, and warranty at priority suppliers
- Active participation in Plant Incoming Quality (IQ) and Vehicle Quality Review (VQR) Meetings
- Coordinating on-site Supplier Representatives
- Providing input to monthly plant Quality Team and operations manager
- Collect data and email to Corp office
- Initiate new customer representation opportunities
- Communicate results and issue to Quality Engineers and Upper Mgmt.
- Inspect and measure materials and dimensions of components to verify conformance using approved measuring instruments and optical devices
- Ensure all data provided to Corp office is accurate and sent timely.
- Submit Customer liaison reports to Customer and corporate office weekly

Pay Rate: $20 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday with overtime
Requirements
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be familiar with working with automotive trim
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent substitute
- Experience: 1-3 years of automotive experience required, with 3-5 years preferred
- Must have previously worked in an automotive plant
Skills:
- Ability to present oneself as well as the company in a professional manner
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent phone etiquette required
- Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer and corresponding programs
- Extensive Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook. Also knowledge of Photoshop is preferred

- Interpersonal skills and customer service skills required
