Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients undertaking industrial or commercial expansion in India.
- Provide strategic guidance on state and central government policies, ease of doing business frameworks, and industrial investment procedures.
- Identify and assess eligibility for fiscal and non-fiscal incentives (e.g., PLI schemes, state subsidies, tax exemptions, capital/interest subsidies, etc.).
- Translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable project roadmaps for clients.
- Lead the structuring of incentive proposals and oversee the preparation, submission, and follow-up of applications with relevant authorities.
- Coordinate with finance, legal, tax, and business units to collate documents, projections, and compliance data.
- Maintain strong working relationships with nodal officers at Invest India, state investment promotion boards, and relevant ministries.
- Track policy updates and proactively advise clients of emerging opportunities and changes.
- Oversee and coordinate all activities related to land acquisition, factory setup, environmental clearances, building plan approvals, and other operational permits.
- Engage with single-window clearance systems and investment facilitation cells.
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with government stakeholders, ministries, and regulatory agencies at both central and state levels.
- Represent the company and its clients in key meetings, delegations, consultations, and forums.
- Work with chambers of commerce, industry associations, and public policy bodies to shape favorable outcomes for clients
- Lead a cross-functional team of associates, analysts, and managers involved in execution.
- Ensure timely delivery of client commitments, regular reporting, and documentation.
- Drive internal knowledge development, policy tracking, and compliance databases.
- This role will require moderate to extensive travel across India based on client locations and government meetings.
Mandatory skill sets:
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, Business Administration, Law, Economics, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in client management, regulatory advisory, government affairs, or incentives consulting.
- Proven experience working with government bodies like DPIIT, MSME Ministry, state investment promotion agencies, and regulatory departments.
- In-depth knowledge of India’s industrial policies, state-level incentives, land and labor regulations, and licensing norms.
