Job Description

Summary:

The Corporate Treasury Manager is a key position within the Treasury function of the Finance department at First United Bank. This position will report to the Treasurer and works closely with the CFO, Controller, FP&A, Accounting, Client Service, and Operations teams within the business. The Corporate Treasury Manager must be highly motivated, intellectually curious, technology-savvy, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, growing environment where there are many questions to be answered, and opportunities for improvement abound.

Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Perform detailed analysis of forecasted and actual results, creating and/or updating management review materials (actual results, business plan and forecast) to assist leadership in understanding trends, variances and efficiencies for Business Line financials. Report the historical financial performance and interpret the results to adjust the forward-looking views.
  • Generate and prepare reports for ALCO which include Treasury modeling results pertaining to regulatory capital, liquidity, FTP and economic capital. This will be processed primarily through Empyrean. Document and report all assumptions and create variance reports from expected results as necessary.
  • Collect and maintain large data sets to use within modeling or other data mining initiatives. Create, recommend and implement new data sources and efficiency improvements to existing data sources. Must be able to troubleshoot any data issue or transformation problems using SQL, Visual Basic or other similar programs.
  • Analyze balance sheet metrics such as aggregates, asset/liability profiles, income, duration and convexity on a drill down basis to ensure accurate and consistent representation of the balance sheet.
  • Interpret financial and operational data and effectively illustrate/communicate links to business performance
  • Provide cash flow analysis for annual budget and ongoing financial forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting models in coordination with CFO and finance team.
  • Assists in enterprise wide stress test modeling with Treasurer.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis for management and board.
  • Proactively identify and act upon opportunities for financial reporting, forecasting and deep dive analyses.
  • Develops and maintains policies governing the budgeting, forecasting and finance technology processes. Represents the Treasury function in meetings with regulators, external auditors and other partners.
  • Measure and analyze product profitability, including impact of product focused initiatives and scenario sensitivities.
  • Interact with business unit leaders and executives regarding performance results and opportunities for improvements. Independently develop and present financial results to senior audiences, clearly articulate outcomes of analysis to leadership teams.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
  • 5+ years relevant treasury experience. (Banking/Financial Services preferred)

  • Comfortable with quantitative analysis and turning data into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leaders.
  • Experience managing within a matrix organizational structure.
