Provides direct and indirect supervision to subordinate managers and employees performing diverse roles within large sites. This includes establishing three- to five-year plans/objectives, and developing policies for the function/unit. Accountable for projects or programs on a multi-functional, national, or regional basis. Work is guided by broad site objectives and corporate policy. Work requires developing solutions, precedents, and/or policies. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and sets goals to achieve objectives. Establishes long-term plans/objectives and recommends changes to policies. Develops department budgets and goals. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in critical delay in schedules and/or unit operation and may also have a company-wide affect. Provides direct supervision to others, or indirect through subordinate supervisors, and coordinates the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees. Reviews employees performance and recommends employee compensation; coaches for improved performance and disciplines as necessary. Provides final approval for subordinate managers/supervisors salary and performance recommendations. Builds cross-functional relationships where persuasive skills, negotiation skills, and considerable tact are required to gain support. Interacts regularly with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions and/or customers. Maintains positive relationships with key customers, suppliers, etc., who have a significant impact on the success of the organization.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
Leads the development and execution of supplier sourcing strategies, across a key subset of critical strategic suppliers and commodities, to support Celestica’s Hardware Platform Solutions business.
Develops supplier relationship maps, supplier profiles and supplier action plans. Leads the Celestica engagement, for key suppliers, across multiple organizations and through multiple levels of the supply chain, design and business organizations.
Provides direction to key supplier selection and management activities, including competitive benchmarking, technology reviews, supplier analysis, supplier development, supplier performance management and negotiation strategies.
Provides leadership for a group of managers who have worldwide responsibility for complex group of components or services.
Drives the development and implementation of commodity management and procurement policies and procedures to ensure support for Celestica’s global design teams, and Hardware Platform Solutions business and customers
Has frequent interaction with, and builds senior executive level relationships with key suppliers supporting our Hardware Solutions Business
Ensures Celestica’s design organization receives a high level of support from critical ecosystem suppliers, including on-site technical support, early technology access, technology roadmap reviews, etc.
Organizes supplier conferences and events to drive support for Celestica’s Hardware Platform Solutions business.
Negotiates strategic pricing deals with key suppliers
Drives supply base support and pricing to enable successful closure of major business opportunities
Establishes corporate target and provides direction to managers in areas of global pricing, terms and conditions, supplier programs and monitoring of supplier performance.
Provides targets and direction in worldwide product sourcing process.

Expert knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of strategic commodities in industry pricing, technology, supply/demand and emerging trends.
Expert knowledge of Celestica’s global supply chain including strategic policies and objectives.
Excellent understanding of global business environment and Customers business, organization, products and processes.
Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and financial analysis.
Ability to identify, coordinate and implement cost reduction initiatives
