JUNIOR ANALYST (Epidemiologist, Mathematician or Statistician)
Venesco LLC is looking for five Junior Analysts (Epidemiologist, Mathematician or Statistician) to provide subject matter expertise to the performance of statistical analysis of the impact of conditions identified during accession to the DAF. FOPR 24-44
The 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, is the first human-centric warfare wing to consolidate human performance research, education and consultation under a single organization. Established under the Air Force Research Laboratory, the 711 HPW is comprised of the Airman Systems Directorate (RH) and the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). The Wing delivers unparalleled capability to the Air Force through a combination of world class infrastructure and expertise of its diverse workforce of military, civilian and contractor personnel encompassing 75 occupational specialties including science and engineering, occupational health and safety, medical professions, technicians, educators, and business operations and support.
Responsibilities:
- 1.2.1 The contractor shall provide subject matter expertise to the performance of statistical
- analysis of the impact of conditions identified during accession to the DAF on longer term
- outcomes of interest to the DAF, such as duty performance and retention.
- 1.2.2 The contractor shall assist in statistical analysis of existing data sets and creation of
- datasets for statistical analysis in SAS/EG.
- 1.2.3 The contractor shall assist in the creation of useful stratification methods for the analysis
- of created data sets, based upon ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes or other
- criteria which may be deemed useful.
- 1.2.4 The contractor shall assist in the development of credible, theoretically driven statistical
- models exploring the relationship between variables identified in data sets within the AVHE
- environment outcomes of interest to the Air Force.
- 1.2.5 The contractor shall perform under guidance validation and verification protocols, to
- ensure that the products of study are performing as expected, and assist in performing
- corrections, in the event of models failing to perform to standard.
- 1.2.6 The contractor shall assist in the drafting of written communication for internal and
- external purposes.
- 1.2.7 The contractor shall participate as an expert in health statistics in interdisciplinary planning
- and analysis.
- 1.2.8 The contractor shall acquire data access permissions necessary to perform stated tasks.
- 1.2.9 The contractor shall use Air Force medical records systems and standards in performance
- of job duties.
- 1.2.10 The contractor shall use all relevant data repositories as part of work, or which are
- generated in pursuit of work.
- 1.2.11 The contractor shall collect data from various databases, pursuant to agreements with
- database owners.
- 1.2.12 The contractor shall establish the relationship of available data to existing data sets, map
- the data between data elements and code for these specific data elements, establish data storage
- architecture requirements, and create a comprehensive data dictionary.
- 1.2.13 The contractor shall provide conference support assistance by active participation in
- professional conferences, preparation of posters and presentations, and publication of peerreviewed
- manuscripts to support distribution of study product.
- 1.2.14 The contractor shall brief study findings at appropriate meetings or forums, as determined
- by the Government.
- 1.2.15 The contractor shall provide technical automation support for all versions of Microsoft
- (MS) Windows, MS Office (e.g., MS Access, MS Excel, MS Publisher), MS SQL, and Adobe.
- 1.2.16 The contractor shall provide data creation and administration in support of model
- development, analysis, and publication.
- 1.2.17 The contractor shall document products for the actual computer code used for government
- personnel to access these files for review, approval, or for generating copies as required. All
- requirements shall be prepared in accordance with USAFSAM programming standards and
- standard commercial practices inclusive of any/all procedures implanted as part of this task.
- 1.2.18 The contractor shall assist in briefings and production of documents as appropriate to
- transfer knowledge of study products to customers in the Air Force Recruiting Service (AFRS)
- and the DAF at large.
