Education and Qualifications
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors or Masters Degree in occupational therapy
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: One to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Current California Occupational Therapy License
- LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Current CPR course completion
- QUALIFICATIONS: A valid California drivers license when travel is required
- QUALIFICATIONS: Able to organize and monitor the work of others
- QUALIFICATIONS: Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- QUALIFICATIONS: Analytical and diagnostic ability capable of interpreting patient physicians orders for occupational therapy patients and developing an effective treatment plan as needed
- QUALIFICATIONS: Evidence of automobile insurance when travel is required

- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (b): This job requires frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching above shoulders, sitting, walking inclines and declines, standing, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive hand motions. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will occasionally pull, lift, transfer, or push a patient side to side, to a sitting position, to a standing position, or laterally. The employee must demonstrate a pull lift of 50 pounds from the floor.
- POTENTIAL EXPOSURE TO BLOOD & BODY FLUIDS: Category 1 for potential exposure to blood body fluids. (Requires the performance of procedures or other tasks in the work routine that involve an inherent potential for mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes of them. Protective measures should be used while engaged in Category 1 tasks with exposure potential.)

Occupational Therapist (AHCL)
- Accepts start of care assignments and schedules visits within agency established timeframes. Takes an active part in the scheduling of patients so as to be as efficient as possible.
- Applies diagnostic and prognostic procedures to evaluate the patients level of function in activities of daily living including eating, dressing, food preparation and other household activities.
- Assists in orientation of new personnel.
- Assists with ongoing collaborative interdisciplinary planning to ensure high quality home health care services.
- Assumes case management responsibilities when designated.
- Directs and assists patients in prevocational evaluation and follow-up.
- Documents all education, intervention actions and coordination of care clearly and concisely in the medical record according to policy and format in a timely manner, according to Medicare standards and departmental policies.
