Healthcare Summer 2025 Administrative Internship Program – Undergraduate (On-Site)

Stanford Health Care offers a comprehensive Healthcare Summer 2025 Administrative Internship Program for undergraduate students, featuring on-site roles across various departments. As an intern in an on-site role, not only will you be working with your peers and leaders in a SHC location daily, you will also be able to collaborate with virtual teams via various collaborative platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

This program is designed to provide valuable experience in the healthcare field, with opportunities for collaboration and skill development.

We have onsite undergraduate internship opportunities available in Summer 2025 for multiple areas. Our past summer interns have participated in areas that provide a diverse range of experiences, allowing interns to develop critical thinking, technical proficiency, and organizational skills while contributing to meaningful projects within Stanford Health Care, such as:

Interventional Platform / Cardiac Cath Lab: Interns will engage in performance improvement data collection, analysis, and reporting, gaining exposure to a technical medical environment and learning from a certified Six-sigma black belt professional.

Operating Room: Interns will learn about perioperative services and the Lean methodology, participating in observation and data collection for process improvement projects in the operating room.

Nursing Education and Practice: Interns will support various programs by participating in daily operations, data entry, and analysis, while gaining insight into the differences between a Center for Education and Professional Development and an academic institution.

Radiology Administration: Interns will participate in process improvement programs, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental policy updates, gaining exposure to various radiology departments and assisting with project management and data analysis.

The Healthcare Summer 2025 Administrative Internship Program at Stanford Health Care offers you the opportunity to develop a diverse range of key skills. To succeed in this Internship Program, interns should focus on developing several key soft skills:

1. Communication Skills: Effective communication is essential for interacting with clinical staff, participating in project coordination, and engaging with various learners. Interns will need to communicate well with a variety of clinical staff and display CI-Care values.

2. Organizational Skills: Being detail-oriented and highly organized is crucial for managing data entry, supporting project managers, and participating in daily operations. Interns will need to manage their time effectively and stay organized to handle multiple tasks.

3. Critical Thinking: Interns will need to identify and manage supply disruptions, conduct data analysis, and support process improvement projects. Critical thinking skills are important for solving problems and making informed decisions.

4. Customer and Patient Focus: Interns should have a positive outlook and be focused on providing excellent customer and patient care. This includes supporting team engagement and collaborating with advanced practice providers.

5. Adaptability and Fast Learning: Interns should be quick learners, able to adapt to new software applications and environments. They will need to learn quickly to support various programs and projects effectively.

6. Teamwork and Collaboration: Interns will work with diverse teams and need to enjoy being part of a team. Collaboration skills are important for supporting project coordination and employee engagement.
