Security Officer - Public Safety - Full-time Overnight 11p-7a

With the general supervision of the Public Safety Manager, the Public Safety Officer completes regular tours of BMC, patrols grounds on foot and in vehicle to maintain order throughout BMC property.  Responsible for protecting life and property of all persons on hospital premises and polices BMC buildings and grounds in order to prevent and/or respond quickly to fire, theft, assault or vandalism.

Schedule  

This position is generally scheduled full-time overnights 11p-7a (40 hours per week).

Qualifications 

•  High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid Iowa Drivers license

• May not be convicted of a crime other than a minor traffic violation in the previous 5 years, may not be convicted of a felony crime at any time, and may not have more than 3 moving violations in a 12-month period.

• One year of security, behavioral health, or related experience, or completion of a 2- or 4-year degree in a related field.
