THE JOB:

As an Emergency Response Team (ERT) Officer, you’ll be the first line of defense, serving as a strong visual deterrent while intervening in and responding to diverse security challenges. From addressing potential threats of violence to handling emergencies and life safety risks, you’ll play a critical role in detecting, disrupting, and mitigating incidents before they escalate. This dynamic position demands advanced training, unwavering professionalism, and peak physical readiness, all performed in alignment with departmental and property standards. THE STARTING RATE:

  • $30.00 per hour


THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Maintain a strong visible and uniformed presence or operate covertly to deter potential threats and ensure safety.
  • Identify and address emergencies, including active violence, crises, weapons incidents, explosives, and natural disasters, utilizing an appropriate escalation of force, including armed response, as outlined by established protocols.
  • Conduct strategic and discreet surveillance operations as needed.
  • Provide specialized support to the Executive Protection Program as directed by leadership.
  • Secure and control incident scenes to prevent further harm, notify personnel of threats, summon emergency responders, and execute evacuation procedures efficiently.
  • Administer first aid to injured individuals while adhering to established reporting protocols for injuries and medical incidents.
  • Safeguard sensitive data with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons.
  • Respond effectively to supervisory directives during active shooter events, assaults, or other high-risk situations.
  • Demonstrate the physical capability to move swiftly, carry injured individuals, neutralize threats, and handle firearms with precision.
  • Successfully complete and maintain certifications in the Emergency Response Team Officer Training Course, ensuring physical fitness and proficiency in legal, tactical, defensive tactics, first aid, CPR, and firearms through rigorous, recurring training.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • At least 4 years of related or combined experience as a: law enforcement officer or; through service as a military police officer or; on a military special operations team as an operator specializing in counter-terrorism or dignitary protection or; in other work such as a Special/Security Police Officer (SPO) that provided the required knowledge and skills of law enforcement operations, practices, techniques, and judicious use of force, to include firearms.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Graduated from an accredited U.S. Federal (to include DOE, DOD), state, or local law enforcement academy.
  • HR 218/ Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) qualification or the ability to obtain a Nevada Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) certification.
  • Will be required to satisfactorily pass a physical agility test, psychological evaluation, background check, drug screen and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License, Alcohol Awareness Card and NV Gaming Registration or the ability to obtain these qualifications before being processed.
  • Able to work full-time hours that may include varied shifts, weekends, and holidays. Shifts will be 4 days per week/10-hour days.
