Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Supplier Quality Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) to join the Supplier Quality team located in Southern California.

This position will provide on-site supplier support primarily in the Southern California Region and can be located within 30 miles of any of the listed locations

This position will plan and conduct audits and assessments of supplier's systems, processes and products with respect to Tooling and Digital Product Definition (DPD) contractual requirements. This position provides supplier education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

Level 3:

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.

  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements. Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.

  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.

  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.

  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.

  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.

  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.

  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.

  • Works under general direction.

Level 4:

  • Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.

  • Provides interpretation of complex requirements.

  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.

  • Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.

  • Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.

  • Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.

  • Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.

  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Develops and implements corrective actions.

  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.

  • Works under minimal direction.

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics

  • 3+ years of industry experience in manufacturing and/or Quality

  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace or defense industry

  • 1+ year of experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions

  • Experience in working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures

  • Experience in fabrication tooling, working with tool
