Overview 

Onyx is a robust, multi-module annuity administrative platform used by multiple companies within Group 1001. It’s built on a modern tech stack and successfully launched 4 years ago. 

 

The Design Intern will work alongside experienced product managers, other designers, and engineers to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities include:  

Understand Design Specifications and User Interactions: Focus on grasping design briefs and understanding how users interact with the product to create intuitive and engaging designs.

Participate in Design Review Process: Actively engage in design reviews to accept and incorporate feedback, learning from critiques to improve design skills.

Create Wireframes and High-Fidelity Prototypes: Develop wireframes and prototypes that effectively communicate design concepts and user flows.

Ensure Consistency with Existing Design Language: Ensure that new designs align with the existing look and feel of the product, maintaining brand consistency.

Innovate in Solving UX Challenges: Find creative solutions to user experience challenges, such as improving usability and enhancing findability.

Collaborate with Front-End Developers: Effectively communicate design ideas and prototypes to front-end developers, ensuring a smooth transition from design to implementation.

 

What We’re Looking For: 
We’re seeking a motivated undergraduate college student who is eager to learn about product management and contribute to meaningful projects. Key qualifications include: 

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field. 
  • Tech Stack: Proficient in Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD
  • Interest in Technology & Product Management: Passion for building user-friendly products and solving real-world problems. 
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively articulate ideas and collaborate with diverse teams. 
  • Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment. 
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with tools like Jira or Confluence is a plus but not required.
