The opportunity
The College COACH summer internship is a paid program running from Monday, June 9-Friday, August 8, 2025. In addition to on-the-job training and work experience, the program includes workshops and additional development programs. College students will work 35 hours/week.
Patient Financial Services - working with one of three managers who lead interesting work between patient families, our clinical departments, and insurance companies to ensure access to care and payment to our system.
What you’ll do
Help the team update our tools and systems!
We have a few projects in mind, such as researching and implementing electronic payments from about 200 health plans, helping our patient families enroll in MyChart, learning how we electronically verify patients health coverage and more.
This team works to ensure families across the U.S. can be seen at Boston Children's and the interns will have the opportunity to be part of our daily huddles and feel the impact of the work we do everyday.

You are an undergraduate college student interested working in healthcare
Basic Microsoft - excel to keep track of information not necessary to do analytics.
Most important is a positive attitude, willingness to dive into any challenge, ask for help.
Recruitment process
Internship opportunities: We aim to have all summer internship opportunities posted by February 28. They will be posted on a rolling basis as managers determine their availability to host an intern.
Resume review & interviews: Applications will be screened, forwarded to managers as appropriate, and interviews will be scheduled.
Offer decision: We will follow up within one week of your interview.
Onboarding: Those selected for the internship program will complete onboarding by May to ensure a smooth start to the program.
