Where the Chemistry Happens…

 

We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for deployment of the Responsible Care® culture across the Performance Materials’ (PMN) thirteen sites in North America to support BASF’s “Zero Incident Mindset”, “Zero Loss of Containment Mindset” and overall “exposure reduction process.”  These beliefs are aligned and paramount to our business priority of “Live Sustainability”.

  The EHS director functionally and directly supervises a diverse team of EHS professionals and oversees overall management of the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHS&S) programs at the PMN sites.  

The position manages and coordinates defined day-to-day EHS responsibilities for Performance Material sites in the US, Mexico, and Canada.  Responsible for EHS personnel, budget and activities supporting assigned PMN sites.

As a Environmental Health Safety and Security (EHS&S) Director, you create chemistry by…

• Developing and sustaining EHS and Process Safety Management systems for PMN to achieve EHS excellence across the manufacturing footprint.
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders within PMN and BASF, and the appropriate Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies.
• Flexing your ability to influence and persuade will serve you well as you drive engagement with the Exposure Reduction Process to reduce or eliminate at risk behaviors and conditions in our working environments.
• Thinking strategically with entrepreneurial drive, you will implement strategies to support site and business objectives and to capitalize on opportunities to add value.
• Managing and coordinating resources and talent within the North American EHS community to ensure all requirements are met in the best interests of BASF.
• Supporting community relations activities on behalf of BASF as well as industry associations. 

If you have...

 

• Engineering Degree or relevant Science degree (Environmental Science, Safety Studies, or Chemistry)
• 15 years of chemical or related industry experience
• 10 years of applicable in manufacturing experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience
