Overview:
The Florida Gaming Control Commission (“FGCC”) is charged with investigating and enforcing Florida pari-mutuel and gaming statutes and rules.
Position Responsibilities:
The Office of the General Counsel supports every aspect of the FGCC’s operation. Accordingly, attorneys will quickly obtain experience in many areas of the law, including advising investigators developing administrative and criminal cases; counseling the FGCC regarding taxation, permitting, and licensing; drafting administrative rules; litigating cases in the Division of Administrative Hearings, Circuit Courts, and District Courts of Appeal; identifying and analyzing the interplay between the newly formed Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority and the State of Florida; contracting and procurement; and human resources. Attorneys will work under the direction of a supervising Chief Attorney.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skill in drafting legal documents;

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association; and
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Florida’s Administrative Procedure Act or criminal law is preferred but not required.
