About this position:
LMCU is looking for a Fraud Specialist I who will be responsible for the investigation of fraudulent, illegal or improper activities by internal or external means, and the prevention and recovery of losses sustained by such activities.
What you’ll do:
Review and follow up with inquiries in Fraud telephone and email queue including, but not limited to, credit reporting disputes by members, within E-Oscar software, or documents received, Infragard emails, IAFCI alert emails. Assists members, potential members and LMCU departments (Wires, Compliance, ACH, branch staff, etc.) with telephone and email requests; answers situational questions. Defers escalated calls to management, if necessary.
Conduct investigations of fraudulent activity to ensure minimal loss to the organization: basic check and account investigations, remote deposit capture. Handle Chexsystem verification requests and FIS updates. Create validation response letters. Handle restitution check logging and processing.
Process forgery claims up to $2,000 made by members and assist members with future fraud prevention.
Review daily reports to identify potentially fraudulent activity: Consolidated RDC Report, Consolidated ATM Report, Canadian Check Report, OLB Transaction Alerts Report, OLB Account Attribute Changes Report, Certificate of Deposit W/D Report.

A high school degree or equivalent.
Knowledge of Symitar.
Check imaging experience.
Proficient in Excel.
Must have a valid driver's license.
