The Wellness team at Martin Health Hobe Sound is looking to add a Fitness Specialist to the team. This opportunity will allow you to share your knowledge with the community and work with many diverse types of medical conditions that other fitness centers normally do not see. The ideal candidate can work with a population that differs from highly fit to those in need of a skilled trainer to help them return to exercise safely after their physical rehabilitation. We are always looking for leaders who are willing to share ideas and start innovative programs.
A caregiver in this position works 22-hours per week, Monday-Friday, from 7:30AM – 1:00PM. The schedule may adjust requiring availability to work 9:00AM – 2:00PM and 12:30PM – 5:00PM, based on business needs.
Floating to support the Palm City location will be required, as needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Supervise exercise activities, monitor exercising participants and interact with members to ensure that exercise programs are done safely and effectively.
Create, implement and evaluate incentive programs to enhance exercise adherence and retention.
Assist with the development and instruction of group exercise classes.
Teach participants on class method, purpose and procedures.
Carry out other projects and duties as assigned by department supervisor or fitness center manager.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
One year of experience in a Fitness Center environment with a background in program management and/or exercise testing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
