Job Summary

The Community Smiles Engagement Specialist plays a key role in supporting our members' journey to better health. You’ll serve as the face of Liberty in the community—empowering members with knowledge, helping them navigate our dental programs, and ensuring they understand and access their benefits. Whether you’re attending outreach events, providing educational resources, or assisting with appointments and transportation, your work will directly impact the lives of Medicaid members and contribute to healthier communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and participate in outreach initiatives to promote awareness and use of dental benefits.

  • Educate current and potential members about oral health, preventive care, and available services.

  • Provide benefit navigation assistance, including help with appointments and using Liberty's online tools.

  • Conduct Oral Health Risk Assessments (OHRA) and assist members in selecting a dental home.

  • Collaborate with regional partners and community organizations to promote services.

  • Maintain cultural sensitivity and effective communication across diverse populations.

  • Support special projects related to health education and outreach.

  • Respond to member inquiries in-person at designated community locations.

 

Qualifications

  • Bilingual English / Spanish - Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in English and Spanish

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage culturally diverse and low-income populations

  • Healthcare or dental knowledge preferred

  • Comfortable working independently and interacting with the public in community settings

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and proactively engage passersby

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance (minimum liability of $100,000)

  • Flexible schedule - Must be willing to work up to two weekend days per month (Saturday or Sunday)
