About the role

Senior Investment Analyst - Corporate Privates

Corebridge Institutional Investments’ Private Credit Group (“PCG”) invests on behalf of Corebridge's Life & Retirement companies and an external client.  PCG manages a $27 billion portfolio across several classes, including Corporate Privates (“CP”), Infrastructure, Asset Backed Securities (“ABS”), and Leveraged Capital (high yield and mezzanine securities).  The investment grade investments are typically long-term, fixed rate debt securities issued by public or private companies outside of the public bond market, in a range of industries and geographies.  Infrastructure within the PCG focuses on energy, all types of utilities, physical assets and Project Finance.

In this Senior Investment Analyst role, you will support Corporate Privates Deal Teams in evaluating new transaction opportunities, assist in monitoring a portfolio of existing investments and undertake Special Projects.

What we are looking for

  • Underwriting:  You will be exposed to all aspects of the underwriting process and given the opportunity to develop fundamental credit investing skills.  This will build on an existing knowledge of accounting, finance, capital markets and fixed income investments.  In addition to reviewing documents specific to an individual investment, the Team must consider broad external factors in making investment decisions.

  • Portfolio Monitoring:  You will work with Portfolio Managers reviewing existing investments in the portfolio.  Monitoring is a continuous process as new data is reported and must be analyzed in relation to the original expectations and existing requirements of our investors.  We look for trends – how is the investment performing versus the original investment thesis and equally important, is that thesis still valid?  Private credit often involves modifications in the amendment and waiver process.

  • Special Projects:  From time to time you will be asked to work on Special Projects that may involve specific investments or trends in the overall portfolio.

  • Investment recommendations and monitoring must be conducted using good judgment on credit, structure, and pricing with the goal of providing appropriate levels of protection and return for the risk taken.  A Corporate Privates Analyst will be able to develop specialized knowledge including (but certainly not limited to); fund managers, REIT’s, manufacturing and service industries.
