Description

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding Physician Assistant - Inpatient Medicine to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County.  Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level I Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island.  The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Opportunity Details:

  • Provides and elicits direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population on patients on the inpatient floors.
  • Develops an assessment and therapeutic plan and renders ongoing patient care.
  • Orders and interprets appropriate lab tests, radiology, diagnostic procedures, and writes prescriptions.
  • Performs specific procedures, including but not necessarily limited to, drawing blood specimens for testing, blood counts, urinalysis, smears, etc.
  • Initiates consultations and refers patient for special testing, if needed.
  • Participates in daily rounds to observe and record pertinent progress of patients, updating and summarization of charts, writing orders and progress notes, and notifying the MD in charge of the patient's condition/status, when appropriate.
  • Participate in IDT rounds and conferences, lectures, and grand rounds for the service.

Qualifications

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified by the NCCPA.
  • Licensed to practice in New York State.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

 

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $127,308* - $169,744* based on 40-hour work week and years of state licensure. 

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $140,038** - $186,718**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:

  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
