** Hours are Monday through Friday. No Weekends**


 The Medical Secretary support physician of our urological services, performs work as required and functions as an effective member of the interdisciplinary team. The Medical Secretary is tasked to perform routine administrative tasks to keep the medical offices running smoothly. This position collaborates/work with staff within their practice or other professional disciplines within the affiliated medical groups as needed to achieve effective and efficient patient care delivery and the desired patient outcomes.


Duties: 

1. Answers telephone and direct calls to appropriate staff.

2. Receives and routes messages and documents such as laboratory results to appropriate staff.

3. Performs various clerical and administrative functions related to physician messages and test results.

4. Handling communications and calendars

5. Maintains correspondence files.

6. Maintain detailed patient and medical records.

7. Schedule medical appointments (secondary)

8. Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information

9. Pre-authorizations for oral medications

10. Complete patient disability forms

11. Handle physician schedule changes

12. Tracking of patients in the hospital

13. Recall patient tracking

Requirements

  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

1. Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform well in stressful situations.

2. Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR, Practice Management

Solutions.

3. Communication skills and customer service oriented.

4. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

5. Project Management

6. Database management

7. Strong problem-solving skills

 
 

Experience Requirement

6 months experience working within a physician’s office desired. Urology experience desired
