This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Lexington County Community Mental Health Center, 305 Palmetto Park Blvd, Lexington, SC 29072.
Under limited supervision of Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) clinic supervisor, therapist provides time limited in-home services to families in which a child is in imminent risk of being placed outside of the home due to disruptive behavior being exhibited in the home, school, and/or community using the MDFT model.Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional:
- Provide clinical assessments, individual, family and group treatment, as well as crises intervention services for assigned caseload utilizing a variety of therapeutic and best practice approaches, following access to care guidelines, caseload limit recommendations, and continuity of care procedures. Provide clinical services in accordance with the LCCMHC Patient Care Hours Policy with 675 hours annually of work time in provision of direct patient services
- Comply with all Corporate Compliance policies, regulations, statutes (federal, local SCOMH), or laws regulating the provision of health care. Complete documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner in accordance with mandated guidelines and LCCMHC and SCOMH/QA standards, and in collaboration with the client served. Review clinical documentation/caseload charts regularly in order to monitor for potential issues and to incorporate QA suggestions/corrections. Maintain appropriate level of training required for licensure (if applicable) as well as complete SCEIS modules (including one additional cultural competency training by June 30th of each year
- Participate in training and consultations to maintain fidelity to the model. Implement recommendations from the MDFT teams and engage supervisor for individual supervision. Coordinate community resources/referrals to promote integration when clinically indicated
Examples of duties
Minimum Requirements:- Master's Degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences or a related field
- Must be licensed pr eligible for licensure in SC and willing to work towards licensure in SC within the first six months of employment
- Ability to lift 5lbs.
- Position may require some additional travel and requires a valid state driver's license.
- It is considered essential and may be called back in during crises/disasters/emergencies.
- Requires flexible schedule.
In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Qualifications
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.Supplemental information

- Have knowledge of psychopathology, family dynamics, family and group psychotherapy
- Able to identify and effectively utilize resources available in the community to accomplish objectives
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families and representatives of other professional disciplines
- Present clear and comprehensive oral and written reports
