Job Description:
AriensCo is on the lookout for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who’s passionate about working with world-class outdoor power equipment at our Brillion, WI location! This role offers the chance to take ownership of high-impact projects and work independently to bring innovative solutions to life. THE DAY TO DAY...
Develops and provides technical information to other groups as required. These groups would include Design, Tooling, Internal/External Engineering, Sourcing, Testing, Analysis, Manufacturing Engineering, Tech Pubs, Industrial Design, Marketing/Sales, Service Group, and Operations
Leads Platform Engineering group to identify product and customer system level requirements that drive the equipment mechanical system design
Leads and participates in technical design reviews related to mechanical sub-systems and components that will be used on assigned platform and innovation projects
Coordinates component, sub-system and system level product testing through test group with clearly written test requests
Creates standard methods and criteria for test procedures
Expert in the application of DFM/DFA in components and assemblies taking into account total cost
Develop supplier relationships and prepares, secures, and reviews cost estimates, and writes appropriation requests
Leads and investigates system/component level failures through FMEA and structured root cause analysis such as 8D
Directs, reviews, and approves work of designer in detailing mechanical component documentation
Reviews industry patents related to mechanical systems on OPE and create IP to protect and advance company’s interests Advises on patent clearance questions
Engages with Product Conformance group to ensure necessary conformance standards and expectations are met
May manage a technical specialty area and mentor other team members on specific technology in which they are considered an expert
THE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from a four-year accredited school required; Mechanical Engineer degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience directly related to the performance of the duties outlined
Design for Six Sigma knowledge preferred
Experience in a manufacturing environment within the outdoor power/off-highway equipment industry
