Staff Software Engineer

Summary of Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal teams, and vendors to design and implement healthcare messaging interfaces
• Learn and understand Teladoc software and actively contribute to improvements to healthcare messaging interfaces that support this software
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates on project progress, discuss technical solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as design documents, API documentation, and user guides.
• Lead a team of developers in implementing complex integration workflows, including HL7 message parsing, transformation, and routing.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce coding standards to ensure high-quality code and maintainable solutions.
• Some on-call rotation time is expected

Experience

• 3+ years working with the Mirth Connect interface engine
• Deep knowledge HL7v2 messaging
• Frequent work experience with TCP/MLLP, HTTP, and SFTP including ability to debug connections
• Familiarity with CCDA and FHIR, prefer direct experience with FHIR
• Understanding of basic SSL concepts and configiration in Mirth

Preferred Experience

• Presence in open-source Mirth communities, GitHub, Mirth Forums, Mirth chat rooms, etc.
• Work experience with FHIR
• Familiarity with XDS.b and XCA 
• Mirth Connect Certified Developer (MCCD) certificate

General Integration Interoperability

• Knowledge of HL7v2, CCDA, FHIR, TCP/MLLP, HTTP, SFTP and healthcare interoperability standards
• 5+ years’ experience with ANY interface engine, including but not limited to Java, JavaScript, Rhapsody, CorePoint, etc.
• Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, MongoDB)
• Some general software engineering experience

The base salary range for this position is $135,000 -150,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here Teladoc Health Benefits 2024. Total compensation is based on several factors
