About the role
Summary
The Referral Development Representative is responsible for planning and implementing marketing and community relations activities for Physician & Referral Services including developing referral sources and maintaining positive relationships with existing referral sources. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
Education/Experience/Licensure

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of medical staff organization, hospital organization and services, and/or sales/promotion techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for interactions with physicians, physicians’ office staff, management, and administration.
- Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgement.
- Ability to maintain working relationships with co-workers, other departments or areas.
- Ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple tasks, organize tasks, and maintain control of workflow.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, implements, and monitors referral development activities and operations in assigned area of responsibility to meet department goals and objectives.
- Coordinates and monitors operating policies ad procedures for the assigned area of responsibility.
- Accepts authority and responsibility for staff/customer collaboration to enhance customer service.
- Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.
- Performs other job functions.
Physical Requirements
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
