New Restaurant Opening Specialist is responsible for all facets of the New Opening Restaurant Process. They will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of the Denny’s training systems at all New Restaurant Openings. They are the onsite contact for company or franchise restaurant openings. They will be responsible for all planning and communication leading up to the opening. This will include leading conference calls, providing necessary information to the opening restaurant and being available at demand to answer any questions to assist the restaurant to a successful opening. A key role will be leading the Coaching, Training, and Mentoring of staff members during the restaurant opening process.
Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
- Schedule and execute all necessary communication and planning prior to NRO’s
- Assemble and lead teams through the NRO training and readiness processes
- Support training, coaching and operational support with the NRO teams throughout openings
- Participate in training and development of trainers and members of the NRO teams
- Facilitates/assists in roll outs and deployment of new systems
- Conducts needs assessments and identify training needs for restaurants
- Ensures the highest levels of training standards at NRO’s
- Provide leadership role at new restaurant openings to include manager support, trainer development, and facilitation of new restaurant training
- Holds daily meetings with restaurant leadership and the NRO team
- Will be a part of 30 and 90 day follow up visits to validate continued restaurant excellence
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma required. College degree is preferred
- 2 years of experience in Denny’s restaurant management as an Area Training Manager or General Manager. A successful Restaurant Manager who has been assessed for the next level could also qualify. Training experience strongly preferred. Proven ability to lead and guide a high volume restaurant shift at the General Manager level
- Food Safety Manager Certification required
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrates excellent leadership and coaching skills
- Strong organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication skills, 2nd language is preferred
- Exhibits the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
- Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint, basic computer and internet skills
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to partner with others to achieve results/resolution
- Must have strong influencing skills and proven ability to overcome objections.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities with strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings as needed
- Ability to obtain a US passport
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Able to be away from home for extended periods of time
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Excellent business and financial acumen
Other Requirements
- Must be able to drive, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to travel frequently (up to 90%), including overnight stays and airline travel when applicable
- Must meet any state, county or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling
- Must be able to work around and serve all Denny’s menu products
- Must be able to work with potentially hazardous chemicals
- Must have sufficient mobility to move and operate in confined work area
- Must be able to observe staff and all aspects of restaurant operations and provide appropriate, timely feedback
- Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes in kitchen and freezer areas
- Licensed to operate an automobile without hours of operations restrictions
- Must have reliable transportation in order to meet regional training needs
- Must qualify for corporate American Express or be reimbursed for expenses incurred as part of extensive travel
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum:$57,000.00 - Maximum:$78,100.00Pleas
